Today whilst fishing I did a rare thing, I stopped to enjoy just watching a brown trout rise. I’ll confess that I had missed a few and with frustration I’d decided to sit and relax a while.
Like anyone who loves fly fishing, the long winter has taken its toll on me. I’m stir crazy and need to be down the river. I think the family want me down the river as much as I want to be there!!
I was desperate to get to get to the River Exe but of course the level was too high to make fishing realistic or even possible in many places. I couldn’t wade due to the power of the water so I gave up on fishing and just practiced my casting. Let’s be honest, I need it!
Of course Christmas has been a time for most of us to rest and over indulge in food and drink. I was no exception to thiis and while I was trying to ignore my expanding waistline I was searching for useless apps to add to the others I rarely use on my phone.
I already use a couple of websites to monitor river levels as my own local river, the River Exe, is a spate river so I watch the river to see when I might be in with a chance of fishing. So I thought I'd see if there was an app that could give me this information. Well there is, and it's free and it's set out amazingly well! The app is RiverApp, it's available on both iphones and andriods.
